Ultra Trail Cordillera Blanca

Held since 2014 in Huaraz, the Ultra Trail Cordillera Blanca is one of the most representative mountain races in the region. At UTCB we provide a unique experience for our participants while promoting the development of the local community under the 3 axes of sustainability.

We promote sport as a training value for local youth with the UTCB Kids initiative.

We boost the local economy with the arrival of +2700 sports tourists to Huaraz.

Location
The city
The races will take place from July 3 to 6 in Huaraz, a city located in the heart of the Peruvian Andes, in the Ancash region, Peru.
Departure and arrival
These will take place at the El Bosque convention center, located 15 minutes by car from the central square of Huaraz.
Climate
At this time of year, the days typically dawn with a temperature that fluctuates between 6 and 10 °C, increasing throughout the day to 22 °C.
There will be a low probability of rain and temperatures could reach around 25 °C.

The Skyrunner World Series was launched in 2004 with the aim of testing the world's best athletes in some of the most demanding mountain races to determine who the world's best skyrunners are.
The Ultra Trail Cordillera Blanca is part of the Skyrunning World Circuit with its SKY RACE 23 KM at the base of the Churup lagoon in the Huascarán National Park.
The VK Open Championship is defined as an uphill-only race with a gradient of 1,000 m on variable terrain, not exceeding 5 km in length. The minimum average gradient must be 20% and 5% of the total distance must have a gradient greater than 33%.
